An author in the house

My first book-signing on Saturday 15th went really well; many thanks to the great staff at Waterstones in Macclesfield who organised it and were so supportive, and to everyone who came in to chat and to buy books. I especially liked the advice from one gentleman during a lull, that I should follow Laurie Lee’s example and stand in the centre of the shop to shout THERE IS AN AUTHOR IN THE HOUSE… I didn’t act on it though, mostly because there weren’t many lulls after that…
